چکیده
Abstract We present an analysis of the BVRI photometry blazar BL Lacertae on diverse timescales from 2020 mid-July to mid-September. have used 11 different optical telescopes around world and collected data over 84 observational nights. The observations cover onset a new activity phase that started in August (termed as flare by us), is focused intranight variability. On short-term timescales, (i) flux varied with ∼2.2 mag R band, (ii) spectral index was found be weakly dependent (i.e., variations could considered mildly chromatic), (iii) no periodicity detected. predominantly show bluer-when-brighter chromatism. also two cases significant interband time lags order few minutes. duty cycle during estimated quite high (∼90% or higher). decomposed light curves into individual flares determined their characteristics. basis our assuming turbulent jet model, we some characteristics emitting regions: Doppler factor, magnetic field strength, electron Lorentz radius. radii were discussed framework Kolmogorov theory turbulence. weighted mean structure function slope related it power density, regard origin

Extreme intranight variability in the BL Lacertae object AO 0235 + 164
We present results of two-colour photometry with high time resolution of the violently variable BL Lac object AO 0235+164. We have found extreme intranight variability with amplitudes of ∼ 100% over time scales of 24 hours. Changes of 0.5 magnitudes in both R and V bands were measured within a single night, and variations up to 1.2 magnitudes occurred from night to night. A complete outburst wi...
متن کاملBL Lacertae: complex spectral variability and rapid synchrotron flare detected with BeppoSAX
We report on two BeppoSAX observations of BL Lac (2200+420) performed respectively in June and December 1999, as part of a ToO program to monitor blazars in high states of activity. During both runs the source has been detected up to 100 keV, but it showed quite different spectra: in June it was concave with a very hard component above 5-6 keV (α1 ∼ 1.6; α2 ∼ 0.15); in December it was well fitt...
متن کاملModeling the Variability of the Bl Lacertae Object Pks 21552304
The bright X-ray–selected BL Lacertae object PKS 21552304 has been the target of two intense multiwavelength campaigns: in 1991 November and in 1994 May. Although the spectral energy distributions at both epochs were quite similar, the source exhibited two very distinct variability patterns that cannot be easily reconciled with homogeneous, one-zone jet models. During the first epoch the variab...
متن کاملThe long-term optical spectral variability of BL Lacertae
Context. We present the results from a study of the long-term optical spectral variations of BL Lacertae, using the long and wellsampled B and R-band light curves of the Whole Earth Blazar Telescope (WEBT) collaboration, binned on time intervals of 1 day. Aims. To study the relation between the long-term spectral variations and the respective flux variations of the source. Methods. We use cross...
متن کاملAnalysis of Five Fermi–LAT LBL/IBL BL Lac Objects: Examining the June 2011 γ–ray Flare of BL Lacertae
Constructing a unification scenario for active galactic nuclei (AGN) is a forefront field of study in contemporary astrophysics. These highly variable and energetic objects produce radiation in wavelengths from radio through γ–ray. As more detectors of the most energetic electromagnetic regimes are developing, so is our knowledge of the emission models responsible for this cosmic radiation. Bla...
